We are committed to using sustainable and ethically sourced Natural Down Insulation Fill. 

Natural Down is superior to petroleum based Synthetic Down Insulation Fill. 

Natural Down provides up to three times the warmth when compared to synthetics. As a result, far less down is needed by weight meaning a lighter and warmer garment. 

Natural Down is a sustainable, eco-friendly material that’s been used for thousands of years. It’s naturally occurring and compostable with all components from down processing being biodegradable. Being a by-product of the food industry, leftover down and feathers would otherwise be discarded but instead can be utilised for cold weather clothing.

Natural Down and feathers have the lowest carbon footprint of any other fill material, both natural and synthetic. In contrast, synthetic fills have a large carbon footprint being petroleum based. 

Synthetic, petroleum-derived insulations are made with the use of finite fossil fuel petroleum. These insulations don't have the longevity of down, as their polyester fibres are heat sensitive and lose their loft-ability over time.   

We ensure our Natural Down is ethically sourced from ducks and geese being raised for their meat. Outdated practices such as live plucking and force-feeding are now rare, yet these are still checked at farm-point to ensure only appropriate farming practices are undertaken.
